In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded in Foxboro, Massachusetts, a pregnant delivery driver turned hero as she assisted at the scene of a violent head-on crash involving an ambulance. The crash left five people, including a child, hospitalized and in critical condition.

On Thursday night, emergency crews responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on Main Street. What they encountered was a devastating sight – crumpled vehicles strewn across the roadway. The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office reported that those injured included two mid-20s emergency medical technicians, a patient in his 70s who was being transported to the hospital, and a 40-year-old mother and her 8-year-old daughter, who were in the other vehicle.

The severity of the situation became apparent when it was revealed that the child had sustained serious injuries and required immediate medical attention. It was at this moment that Jamie Jarvis, a 35-year-old pregnant delivery driver, sprang into action. Jarvis heard the impact of the crash and rushed to aid the wounded. When she learned that there was a child involved, her determination intensified.

With bravery and compassion, Jarvis assisted the 8-year-old girl out of the wreckage. In those terrifying moments, she comforted the child, who looked at her with confusion and asked, “Who are you?” Jarvis replied, “Honey, I’m just a mother who cares about kids… I just kept saying ‘talk to me.'”

The child’s injuries were so severe that she had to be transported by medical helicopter to receive specialized care. Meanwhile, the patient who was being transported in the ambulance was safely secured and remained strapped to the stretcher in the rear of the vehicle. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation.

As the community grapples with this tragic event, authorities are working diligently to determine the cause of the crash. The investigation is still ongoing, and no additional information has been released at this time.

This story serves as a reminder of the extraordinary courage and selflessness that can emerge in the face of adversity.
