“Woman Arrested for Brandishing BB Gun at Wakefield Porchfest Event”

A Wakefield woman, Brigid MacDonough, found herself in legal trouble after allegedly waving a BB gun at people during a “porchfest” event. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when witnesses reported a woman driving through the Greenwood neighborhood while brandishing what appeared to be a rifle. Although she had left the scene by the time police arrived, authorities were able to identify MacDonough based on information from witnesses.

MacDonough, 42, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and appeared in court on Monday. The prosecutor, Elizabeth Kelly, revealed that the weapon in question was actually a BB gun, which was seized by the authorities. Prior to the incident, MacDonough had been involved in a fight with her boyfriend in Saugus, during which she rammed her car into his vehicle. It was later confirmed that MacDonough works as a mail processing clerk at the US Postal Service’s Chelsea Carrier Annex.

Interestingly, MacDonough was already on probation for resisting arrest following a previous incident where she drove her car into her boyfriend’s deck in Saugus. This new charge could potentially lead to further legal consequences for her. To determine whether she will be jailed for violating her probation on the resisting arrest charge, MacDonough will need to appear before a judge in Lynn District Court.

In the meantime, if MacDonough is allowed to go home, she will be placed under house arrest and must comply with a set of conditions. Failing to adhere to these conditions could result in her bail being revoked in the Wakefield assault with a dangerous weapon case. MacDonough is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing next month.

The Wakefield Porchfest, where the incident took place, is an annual event that showcases free musical performances on makeshift stages. This year, there were 106 acts performing across 50 locations. Attendees captured the gun-waving incident on camera and expressed their concerns about the behavior. One witness mentioned that whether the gun was real or not, the threatening behavior was disturbing enough.

In conclusion, the incident involving Brigid MacDonough waving a BB gun at people during a porchfest event has resulted in her facing charges of assault with a dangerous weapon. Her previous probation for resisting arrest may also come into play, potentially leading to more severe consequences. The incident has raised concerns among attendees about the threatening behavior, regardless of the authenticity of the weapon used.
