Witney Carson Returns to “Dancing With the Stars” for Season 33: Exciting Details Revealed

Witney Carson, the former Mirrorball champion, has announced her return to Season 33 of “Dancing With the Stars.” After taking a two-year break from the series, Carson surprised her Instagram followers with the news of her comeback. In a video, she expressed her excitement to get back on the dance floor and teased her followers about her celebrity partner, saying they would be amazed. Carson first competed on the show in season 18 with singer Cody Simpson as her partner.

In Season 19, Carson was paired with Alfonso Ribeiro, known for his role in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The duo went on to win the competition, showcasing Carson’s talent and skill as a professional dancer. In Season 31, Carson placed third with Wayne Brady. At that time, she was pregnant with her second child, a boy named Jet, with her husband Carson McAllister. Carson and McAllister also have a son named Leo, who was born in January 2021, leading to a break for Carson during Season 29.

Carson’s close friend, Lindsay Arnold, however, will not be returning to “Dancing With the Stars.” In a TikTok video, Arnold explained that her decision to step away from the show two seasons ago was not permanent. She stated that her involvement in the show depends on what works best for her life and that she takes it one season at a time. Arnold also mentioned that being a professional on the show does not guarantee a spot each season. Despite being under contract, she had to wait to hear if she would be returning to the ballroom.

Arnold emphasized that even long-standing pros on the show are not guaranteed a spot each season. The decision ultimately lies with the producers, and there have been instances where experienced pros were not picked. Arnold currently lives in Utah with her husband and two daughters, and if she were to be involved in Season 33, there would need to be conversations with the producers in advance. She clarified that it’s not as simple as expressing her desire to be on the show as everything is last-minute and requires careful planning and coordination.

Arnold concluded that at this time in her life, being on “Dancing With the Stars” is not in the cards for her. While she understands that fans are curious, she wants to make it clear that her absence from the show is not solely her decision. The show’s dynamics and the decisions made by the producers play a significant role in determining the lineup of professional dancers each season.
