Trump criticizes Biden’s competence and blames Democrats for the deterioration of the US-Mexico border in Hannity interview

In a recent interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, former President Donald Trump criticized President Biden’s handling of border security and blamed the Democrats for the deterioration of the US-Mexico border. Trump, who visited the border in Eagle Pass, Texas, with Governor Greg Abbott, described the situation as the “worst border ever in the history of the world.”

According to Trump, the Democrats have “destroyed this border and they’re in the process of destroying our country.” He expressed concern about allowing people into the country who should not be here and referred to them as an “extraordinarily tough group of people.”

Trump likened the situation in Texas to a “warzone” and took a shot at Biden for reversing immigrant policies that he had put in place. He called Biden “the most incompetent president we’ve ever had” and criticized him for only deciding to visit the border after hearing about Trump’s visit.

While Biden visited the border in Brownsville, Texas, which sees significantly fewer illegal border crossings compared to Eagle Pass, Trump claimed that there were almost no migrants coming through the area Trump and Governor Abbott had focused on. He accused Biden of going to the wrong area and stated that there was essentially nobody crossing through that particular region.

To address the migrant crisis, Trump proposed rounding up migrants by the thousands through local police and deporting them to their home countries. He argued that local police have a better understanding of who these migrants are, knowing them by their first and last names and where they come from. The plan would involve turning the migrants over to federal authorities for deportation.

Earlier in the day, the Texas National Guard showed Trump razor wires erected in a local park to deter migrants from crossing the Rio Grande into the US. Governor Abbott explained that such measures have forced migrants to cross through Arizona and California instead.

In response to Trump’s criticisms, Biden visited Brownsville and urged Congress to approve a bipartisan supplemental spending bill that would provide more resources to address the crisis. He emphasized the need for immediate action and referred to the compromise bill as the toughest set of border security reforms the country has ever seen.

Biden directly called out Trump by name and accused him of “playing politics with this issue.” The back-and-forth between the former and current presidents highlights the ongoing debate and differing approaches to border security and immigration policies.

Overall, the Hannity interview showcased Trump’s strong criticisms of Biden’s competence and his belief that Democrats are responsible for the deteriorating border situation. It also highlighted the contrasting viewpoints between the two presidents regarding how to address the migrant crisis. As the debate continues, it remains to be seen what actions will be taken to secure the US-Mexico border and manage immigration effectively.
