Trump and Haley Clash in NH as DeSantis Drops Out

New Hampshire Primary: Trump and Haley Compete for Republican Nomination

With the New Hampshire primary just one day away, the two candidates vying for the Republican nomination, former President Donald Trump and former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, are making their final push to energize supporters and win over undecided voters.

The pool of undecided voters grew on Sunday after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced his early exit from the race. As a result, voters will now have to choose between Trump and Haley when they head to the polls on Tuesday.

Despite months of strong criticism between DeSantis and Trump, the former governor endorsed Trump as he exited the race. This endorsement came after DeSantis called out party members who “kiss the ring” of Trump to avoid his public bullying.

Haley, Trump’s remaining opponent for the GOP nomination, faced Trump’s “trash” talk over the weekend. Trump labeled her as a losing candidate who puts America last and suggested that she is easy to beat, claiming that radical left Democrats support her for this reason.

While Trump will be in court in New York City on Monday for a defamation suit against him, he plans to travel to New Hampshire afterward for a rally in Laconia. It’s worth noting that Trump has been facing questions about his mental competency and age, with instances of mixing up names during his speeches.

Both Haley and President Joe Biden, who will face the GOP nominee in November’s general election, seized on Trump’s apparent gaffes to highlight what they perceive as his unfitness for office. Haley emphasized the need for mental competency tests in Congress, while Biden criticized Trump’s mix-up of Haley and Nancy Pelosi.

During a campaign stop in Exeter on Sunday, Judge Judy endorsed Haley, praising her poise, grace, knowledge, and intelligence. Haley herself presented the choice for voters as one between more of the same or something new.

As the primary approaches, Trump exuded confidence, claiming that the enthusiasm among his supporters is at an all-time high. The polls will open in New Hampshire on Tuesday, and the outcome of the primary will shape the Republican nomination race.
