Travis Kelce Cheers on Girlfriend Taylor Swift at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, expressed his excitement and support for his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, during a recent episode of their podcast, “New Heights.” As they discussed the upcoming 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Kelce cheered for Swift to win multiple awards. He mentioned that she was nominated for 12 awards, including artist of the year, and hoped she would bring home some Moon Person trophies, which he referred to as “cooler trophies.”

Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, who is a retired Philadelphia Eagles center, also joined in on the conversation and showed his support for Swift. They both expressed their admiration for the Moon Person trophies and encouraged Swift to “stay on top.” However, Jason playfully teased that he hoped others would lose to Swift, showcasing their lighthearted sibling rivalry.

Swift already holds an impressive record of 23 VMAs, and if she wins more this year, she could break Beyoncé’s record of 27 wins, making history at the awards show. It is yet to be confirmed if Swift will attend the event at UBS Arena on Long Island, NY, but the VMAs have been one of her favorite ceremonies over the years. She attended the 2023 event and had a remarkable night, winning nine awards, including video of the year for her song “Anti-Hero.” In 2022, after a three-year hiatus, Swift made a memorable comeback at the VMAs and announced her album “Midnights” onstage to celebrate her first win 13 years prior.

Although it is unclear if Swift will walk the red carpet this year, it is unlikely that she will be accompanied by Kelce, considering his football season commitments. Kelce, who recently spent a weekend with Swift in New York City, has a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Despite their possible absence, the 2024 VMAs promise to be an exciting event with performances from Katy Perry, who will also receive the Video Vanguard Award, Sabrina Carpenter, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Eminem, Lenny Kravitz, Chappell Roan, Anitta, GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, and other talented artists.

Fans can tune in to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV to see if Swift adds to her collection of VMAs and witness the fantastic lineup of performances.
