Tragic Incident: California Grandfather Fatally Shot while Opening Front Door in the Presence of his Granddaughter

Hector Ascencio, Sr., 57, was fatally gunned down on September 16, 2023, in the city of South Gate. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is offering a reward for any information leading to the capture of the killer.

Los Angeles Supervisor Janice Hahn expressed her deep sorrow and called for the public’s assistance in solving the case. “Hector was in his own home with his family when someone savagely took his life. His granddaughter watched Hector die. We need to bring his killers to justice as soon as possible,” she said.
