Tish Cyrus Reflects on the Benefits of Early Marijuana Use in Parenting

Tish Cyrus, mother of famous singer Miley Cyrus, recently opened up about her parenting journey and how she believes early marijuana use would have made her a better parent. In a conversation with rapper Wiz Khalifa on her podcast “Sorry We’re Stoned,” Tish shared her thoughts on how smoking weed earlier in life could have enhanced her parenting skills.

Tish, who didn’t start smoking pot until the age of 46, expressed that she believes she would have been a more fun and tolerant parent if she had started using marijuana when her children were young. She mentioned that school projects and other activities would have felt more enjoyable and lighthearted. Tish’s daughter Brandi, who co-hosts the podcast, supported her mother’s perspective, stating that Tish would have been much more tolerant had she used weed earlier on.

The Cyrus family matriarch also shared that smoking weed has positively impacted her decision-making skills. She mentioned that taking a few puffs of a joint throughout the day has improved her ability to make sound choices. However, Tish emphasized that marijuana may not be suitable for everyone and that her experience with it has been personally beneficial.

Tish has five children in total, including Miley, Braison, and Noah with her ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus, as well as Brandi and Trace from a previous relationship. After Tish and Billy Ray divorced in April 2022, they both moved on quickly. Billy Ray got engaged to fellow musician Joanna “Firerose” Hodges in August of the same year and tied the knot in October 2023. Tish, on the other hand, got engaged to actor Dominic Purcell in April and married him in August.

However, their split was not without drama. Reports surfaced claiming that Tish’s daughter Noah had allegedly dated Dominic Purcell before he became Tish’s husband. It was alleged that Tish was aware of the relationship but didn’t give Noah the chance to discuss it before getting married. A source claimed that Noah was offended by the situation, and she did not attend Tish’s wedding to Purcell.

Overall, Tish Cyrus’s openness about the benefits of early marijuana use in parenting has sparked a conversation. While some may agree with her perspective, it is important to remember that every individual’s experience with marijuana can differ. Tish’s journey as a parent and her thoughts on weed serve as a reminder that parenting is a unique and evolving experience for everyone.
