New York City was chosen as the perfect location for this celebration due to its historical significance. It was in the Big Apple that the original ‘Jeopardy!’ pilot episode was filmed back in 1964. This makes the city a fitting tribute to the show’s rich legacy.
Ken Jennings, who took over as the host of ‘Jeopardy!’ after the passing of the legendary Alex Trebek, shared his thoughts on the event. He revealed that they have named the stage the “Alex Trebek Stage” in honor of the late host. Jennings expressed how he often hears Trebek’s voice in his head during games, especially when someone misses a Daily Double or when everyone misses the same clue.
