Israeli Soldier Seriously Injured in Terrorist Attack in Haifa
In a shocking incident, an ax-wielding terrorist drove his vehicle into a group of Israeli soldiers outside a Navy base in Haifa, leaving one serviceman seriously injured. The attack took place early Monday morning. The Israeli Defense Forces reported that the terrorist first rammed his vehicle into the soldiers and then proceeded to attack them with an ax.
Terrorist Shot Dead at the Scene
Quick action from one of the soldiers resulted in the suspect being shot dead at the scene. Another individual suspected of fleeing the scene was also apprehended, according to the Jerusalem Post.
Photos and Footage from the Incident
Photos posted on social media after the attack showed armed troops standing near a man lying on the street with a hatchet beside him. Additional footage displayed a white sedan with its front smashed in next to the outer wall of the military facility.
Soldier’s Condition and Hospital Treatment
Medics who arrived at the scene found a 20-year-old soldier conscious but with severe lower limb injuries. The soldier was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Dr. Avi Weissman, the deputy director of the hospital, stated that the soldier is currently unconscious and intubated, and will undergo multiple surgeries due to his injuries.
The hospital remains open to walk-in patients despite the incident.
