Arrest Made in Connection to Fatal Shooting of Humble Gas Station Clerk

HUMBLE, Texas – The Humble Police Department has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of a gas station clerk in Humble. The shooting occurred on Friday at approximately 11:30 a.m. near Bush Intercontinental Airport on Will Clayton Parkway.

According to authorities, the incident began when two suspects were caught on surveillance video stealing a bag of chips from the Sunoco gas station. The store clerk confronted the suspects, who then fled the scene on foot. The clerk followed them in his vehicle and located them in the turnaround lanes on Will Clayton Parkway. One of the suspects opened fire, fatally shooting the clerk.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered the victim’s body inside his car underneath the southbound ramp of the Eastex Freeway. An intense search for the suspects, described as Black men between the ages of 18 and 25, was conducted with the assistance of K9 officers and police helicopters.

The Humble community is mourning the loss of the 42-year-old clerk, who had been working at the gas station for three to four months. A regular customer who frequently saw the victim expressed shock and sadness over the incident, stating that he would often cover the clerk’s coffee and would have helped the suspects if they needed food.

Humble police initially stated that the suspects could be facing capital murder charges. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
