Initial Reports and Disturbing Discoveries
Initially, law enforcement officers were called to Cosby Street near Martin Luther King Boulevard, one block over from Enyart Street. They responded to reports of a man assaulting children in the street. Upon arrival, officers found a man on the roof of a house and two injured children on the road. The eldest child informed the police that her father had shot her mother and directed them to the Enyart scene.
Tragic Findings at the Enyart Scene
Upon reaching the Enyart residence, authorities discovered not only an open front door but also a third child, a boy believed to be around 3 or 4 years old, with blunt trauma injuries. Tragically, they also found a woman dead inside the house. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Christina Abner, the mother of the three children involved in the incident.
Heartbreaking Loss and Family’s Grief
Christina Abner, a loving mother and sister, tragically lost her life in the incident. Family members expressed their deep sorrow and described her as a wonderful mother who will be greatly missed. Abner had recently secured a new job and was working towards rebuilding her life.
