Snowstorm to blanket New England on Tuesday – Weather, Sports | WHDH 7News

Winter Storm Expected to Bring Snow to New England, Impacting Morning Commute

Another winter storm is on its way to New England, with snow expected to fall across the region on Tuesday. This could potentially cause disruptions to the morning commute as temperatures drop.

As of 8:30 p.m., the Worcester Public Schools have already announced closures due to the anticipated snowfall. Other schools in the region may also follow suit.

The snow is forecasted to begin as scattered snow showers on Tuesday morning and continue throughout the day. While most areas will experience an all-snow event, parts of the South Shore and Cape Cod may see a mix of rain and snow.

In Metro Boston, accumulations of one to two inches of snow are expected throughout the day. Further north and west, snow totals could reach between two and four inches. Lower totals are anticipated along the South Coast and Cape Cod.

Although not as severe as previous storms, this winter weather system has prompted a winter weather advisory for Tuesday in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.

In addition to school closures, the city of Worcester has announced the closure of its senior center on Tuesday. They have also implemented a winter parking ban starting at midnight.

Several branches of the Worcester Public Library will also be closed.

Following the storm, cold temperatures will persist in the region, with lows dropping below 20 degrees on Wednesday. There is also a potential for more snow on Friday.
