Simone Biles’ Husband, Jonathan Owens, to Support Her in Person at 2024 Paris Olympics

Simone Biles, the acclaimed gymnast from Spring, Texas, is preparing to showcase her incredible talent once again at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This time, however, she will have the support of her husband, Jonathan Owens, a professional athlete in his own right. Unlike the 2020 Summer Games, where fans were not allowed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Owens will be able to cheer Biles on in person.

Owens, who currently plays for the Chicago Bears, will be taking a break from his training camp to be in Paris. The couple had planned this trip since Owens signed with the Bears as a free agent in March. When negotiating his two-year deal, Owens made it clear that he wanted to attend the Olympics to support his wife. Fortunately, the Bears organization was understanding and supportive of his request.

Biles expressed her gratitude towards the Bears for allowing Owens to accompany her to the Olympics. She spoke highly of the team, describing them as a “first-class organization.” Biles, a decorated gymnast with multiple gold medals under her belt, is expected to dominate the competition once again. The American team is favored to win the team competition, and Biles herself is a strong contender for individual medals.

While Owens is away in Paris, his teammates at the Bears training camp have been incredibly supportive. They have encouraged him to bring back souvenirs from the Olympics and have shown understanding towards his absence. Owens will be away from camp from July 29th to August 3rd, but he plans to stay connected with the team by receiving recordings of meetings and staying up to date with the training regimen.

For Owens, this will be his first opportunity to watch Biles compete in person at the Olympics. He had previously supported her from afar during the 2020 games, waking up early to catch her events. Owens is excited to see his wife perform and is looking forward to reuniting with her after being apart for three weeks.

The couple currently has a home in Houston, where Biles trains. After the Olympics, Biles will join Owens in Chicago following a gymnastics tour with the U.S. team. Despite their busy schedules, they make an effort to be together whenever possible. Owens emphasized that seeing Biles and witnessing her passion for gymnastics is what truly makes him happy.

Overall, the support and understanding shown by the Bears organization and Owens’ teammates highlight the importance of a strong support system for athletes. It is crucial for athletes to have the emotional support of their loved ones, especially during major competitions like the Olympics. Biles and Owens’ relationship serves as an inspiration, showcasing the power of love and support in achieving success both on and off the field.
