Shohei Ohtani Gets Hollywood Treatment with Two Murals in Los Angeles

Shohei Ohtani, the newest Dodgers player, is already making waves in Hollywood. After signing a massive 10-year, $700 million contract with the team, Ohtani was officially introduced by the Dodgers last week. And now, he’s receiving a larger-than-life tribute in the form of two murals in the Los Angeles area.

Murals by Famed Street Artist Jonas Never and Gustavo Zermeno Jr.

Famed street artist Jonas Never, known for his murals of LeBron James and Anthony Bourdain, painted one of the murals on the side of the Prociety shop in downtown LA. The mural depicts Ohtani in a Dodgers jersey with a bat over his shoulder, and it features the words “Sho-time” in Dodgers’ blue and white behind him. The piece took a day and a half to complete, with assistance from fellow artist Droyce, according to TMZ.

Another Ohtani mural was painted by artist Gustavo Zermeno Jr. on the Oceanview Liquor Store in Hermosa Beach. This mural showcases Ohtani in a side profile next to the Dodgers logo, surrounded by images of other LA sports stars.

Ohtani’s Impressive Baseball Career

Ohtani, who will not be pitching this season due to elbow surgery, has been one of baseball’s most dynamic players during his six seasons with the Angels. In his last season, he had an impressive batting average of .304 with 44 home runs, 95 RBIs, and 20 stolen bases, along with a remarkable 1.066 OPS. On the pitching side, Ohtani achieved a 10-5 record with a 3.14 ERA and 167 strikeouts.

With his incredible talent and star power, it’s no wonder that Ohtani is receiving such a grand tribute in the form of these murals. They serve as a testament to his impact on the game and his status as a beloved figure in Los Angeles sports.

As Ohtani continues his journey with the Dodgers, fans and art enthusiasts alike can admire these stunning murals that capture the essence of his greatness. Whether you’re a baseball fan or simply appreciate incredible artwork, these murals are a must-see in the City of Angels.
