Castro, who is on varsity for the first year, described the experience as the most exciting feeling in the world. The girls’ team, with a record of 20-3-5, has shown resilience and growth throughout the season, despite having many new faces on the team at the beginning of the year.

The Seven Lakes girls’ team will kick off state play against Prosper, who have a record of 24-2-2, on Friday at noon. The Spartan boys’ team will face off against Duncanville at 5 p.m. on the same day at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown.
