Richard Marx Calls Out Rude Concertgoer: “Learn Some Manners”

Pop rock singer Richard Marx didn’t hold back when an unruly concertgoer disrupted his performance in Port Chester, NY on January 21. The incident occurred during Marx’s acoustic tour with fellow rocker Rick Springfield, while they were performing Marx’s hit song “Angelia.” A video obtained by TMZ showed the rude heckler speaking loudly, causing Marx to address her in front of the entire crowd.

Marx Stands Up for Respect

Despite the interruption, Marx finished the song while the woman continued to chat loudly, irritating other concertgoers. He then confronted her, asking, “I’m genuinely curious who raised you to think that anything you could yell out was more important than what we were doing?” Marx didn’t mince words, telling the woman to “learn some f—ing manners.”

Support from Springfield

Rick Springfield, who was performing alongside Marx, chimed in to share his own experience with rude audience members. He recalled a time when he was performing “My Father’s Chair” and people at the bar were having a loud conversation. Springfield expressed solidarity with Marx and offered a humorous threat to the disruptive fan, saying, “I’m going to come into your work, and I’m going to pee on your desk while you’re working.” However, he quickly redirected the conversation back to the music, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the performance.
