In a shocking turn of events, a former Massachusetts city councilor accused of child pornography charges has joined the Russian forces in their conflict with Ukraine. Wilmer Puello-Mota, who fled the country earlier this year to avoid standing trial, was recently spotted in a Russian enlistment center signing up to fight for the Kremlin. The former politician’s legal troubles began when authorities discovered naked photos of a 17-year-old girl on his cell phone in 2020. Former colleagues of Puello-Mota believe that he is indeed the person seen in the recent video footage. Holyoke City Councilor David Bartley stated, “That’s Wil in it. It looks like Wil. It sounds like Wil.” Councilor Juan Anderson-Burgos expressed certainty, saying, “I am 100% sure.”
