Reality TV personality Karen Huger faces DUI charges after crashing her Maserati at high speed

Reality TV star Karen Huger, known for her role on “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” is facing serious charges after crashing her luxury 2017 Maserati at high speed. The incident occurred late Tuesday night and Huger has been charged with driving under the influence (DUI) as well as driving while impaired by alcohol, both of which will require her to make court appearances.

In addition to the DUI charges, Huger has also been hit with six traffic violations. These violations include negligent and reckless driving, speeding, driving with a suspended registration, and failure to notify the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration of her change of address. The fines associated with these charges range from $50 to $510.

TMZ was the first to report the DUI charges, and they also revealed that Huger claimed she was coming home from dinner with a friend and they were discussing serious topics before the crash. She allegedly said she was crying while driving and her emotions were running high when a vehicle approached her, causing her to swerve away and lose control. Despite the severity of the crash, Huger was not arrested at the scene.

Huger will not only have to face the court for her DUI charges but also pay fines for her traffic violations. The fines range from $50 to $510 and include charges for reckless driving and speeding, among others.

A representative for Huger did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment regarding her citations. It is unclear if Huger sustained any serious injuries in the crash, but her car was heavily impacted and had to be towed away.
