A Plymouth resident has been charged with assault to murder after allegedly firing shots at several homes following a bar argument. The incident occurred on North Spooner Street in Plymouth, Massachusetts, and fortunately, no one was injured.
According to witnesses at the scene, multiple homes were hit by gunfire. One bullet pierced through a home and into the family room ceiling, while several bullets struck another home, with one even going through a window. Thankfully, none of the occupants were harmed during the incident.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Joshua Fitzgerald, was apprehended by police after they discovered that he had been involved in an argument outside of a downtown bar. Fitzgerald then returned to the area and began firing shots at the home of the individuals he had the disagreement with.
During his arrest, Fitzgerald allegedly dropped a pistol while attempting to walk away from the authorities. He now faces several charges, including four counts of assault to murder while armed, seven counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, threats to commit murder, destruction of property valued above $1,200, and possession of a Class B drug (cocaine). He is currently being held on $10,000 cash bail pending his arraignment.
This incident is still under investigation, and more details are expected to emerge as the case develops. It serves as yet another reminder of the potential dangers that can arise from heated arguments and confrontations. Fortunately, no lives were lost in this situation, but it is a sobering reminder of the need for peaceful resolutions and responsible firearm ownership.
