Pennsylvania Democratic State Rep. Kevin Boyle’s outburst includes a threat to shut down a bar while asserting his identity

Pennsylvania Democratic State Rep. Kevin Boyle recently made headlines for all the wrong reasons. In a shocking incident at Gaul & Co. Malt House in Rockledge, Pennsylvania, Boyle unleashed a profanity-laced tirade at employees and even threatened to use his political status to shut down the bar.

The viral footage of the incident shows Boyle shouting at a female bartender and refusing to leave the establishment despite several orders to do so. In a fit of rage, Boyle exclaimed, “I can f–king end this bar by the way, I’d f–king end this bar if I wanted to.” His outburst continued as he called everyone inside the bar “a–holes” and accused them of working with the federal government.

What makes this incident even more concerning is that Boyle is a state lawmaker representing the Pennsylvania 172 district since 2011. The fact that an elected official would behave in such an inappropriate manner raises questions about his fitness for office. Boyle’s brother, Brendan, is also a US representative for Pennsylvania, adding another layer of scrutiny to the situation.

Boyle’s power-hungry behavior didn’t stop with his verbal attacks. He claimed to have the ability to prevent some of the bar’s employees from getting promotions and pointed around the room in an attempt to confirm everyone’s military status, receiving zero positive responses. It seems that Boyle’s outburst was fueled by delusions and paranoia, as he accused the workers of being “actors” and part of “US military intelligence.”

In a moment of clarity, Boyle ensured he paid his tab before continuing his defiant behavior. He exclaimed, “This bar is done, do you know who the f–k I am? This bar is done tomorrow.” The arrogance displayed by Boyle is truly astonishing, as he seemed to believe that his political position gave him the power to shut down a local establishment.

It’s important to note that this incident is not an isolated one. Earlier in 2021, Boyle was arrested for harassment and violating a protection from abuse order filed by his wife. As a result, he was removed from his position as House Finance Committee chairman and had his access to the Capitol limited. These personal problems seem to have taken a toll on Boyle, and it’s encouraging to see that he is seeking help.

The Pennsylvania House Democratic Leaders released a statement acknowledging the video and expressing their concern. They mentioned Boyle’s personal challenges and expressed their support for him seeking help. Mental health should never be stigmatized, and they emphasized the importance of advocating for mental health access.

This incident raises important questions about the behavior and mental well-being of elected officials. It serves as a reminder that anyone can face personal challenges and that seeking treatment should be encouraged rather than stigmatized. The incident involving Rep. Kevin Boyle is a stark reminder of the responsibility that comes with holding public office and the need for elected officials to uphold the trust placed in them by their constituents.

It remains to be seen how this incident will impact Boyle’s political career. However, one thing is certain – his behavior at Gaul & Co. Malt House has raised serious concerns about his ability to serve his district effectively. The people of Pennsylvania deserve elected officials who act with integrity and respect, and it is up to them to hold their representatives accountable.
