Pennsylvania Man Arrested in Las Vegas Casino After Girlfriend Found Dead

A Pennsylvania man, who was previously targeted in a murder-for-hire plot, has been arrested at a Las Vegas casino following the discovery of his 26-year-old girlfriend’s body at their home. Authorities suspect that he was planning to flee the country.

Charges and Investigation

Arthur Eugene Guty Jr. is facing charges of criminal homicide and aggravated assault in connection with the death of his wife, Franyerlys Nicold “Nicole” Zambrano Briceno. According to WTAE, Zambrano died from a gunshot wound to a vital part of her body.

Zambrano’s coworkers at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort reported her missing on December 24 in Farmington, PA, after she failed to show up for work for several days. Uniontown police conducted a welfare check at her home but were unable to make contact with her. This prompted an investigation into her disappearance.

Through the course of the investigation, authorities received tips and followed up on them. With the help of forensic evidence and technology, they obtained a search warrant for the home where Zambrano was found deceased in a bedroom. A .357 magnum revolver was also recovered from a separate room.

Suspect’s Actions and Arrest

Guty quickly became the prime suspect in the case due to inconsistencies in his statements and behavior. He could not explain his wife’s whereabouts accurately. Days before Zambrano was reported missing, Guty had left the Pennsylvania town, claiming that he and Zambrano were on a cross-country road trip.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Guty on Monday. They suspected that he was attempting to flee the country, as he was found with approximately $100,000 in cash when he was arrested at the Mardi Gras Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas while having breakfast.

Past Incidents

This is not the first time Guty has been involved in a murder-for-hire plot. In 2019, his ex-wife, Roxanne Guty, was arrested for attempting to hire a hitman to kill him. She offered the hitman a share of a $50,000 life insurance policy. Roxanne Guty was sentenced to lesser charges and is currently held at Fayette County Prison.

Conclusion

Guty is scheduled to appear in front of a fugitive judge on Thursday morning. The investigation into Zambrano’s death is ongoing, and authorities believe there is a level of callousness in Guty’s actions.
