Nick Cannon Dresses as Santa Claus to Bring Christmas Joy to Sick Kids in Honor of Late Son Zen
Nick Cannon, the host of “Wild ‘N Out” and “The Masked Singer,” dressed up as Santa Claus and visited a children’s hospital in Orange County, California. This act was done to spread Christmas joy to sick kids and honor his son Zen, who tragically passed away from brain cancer two years ago.
In an Instagram post, Cannon shared a video of his hospital visit and wrote, “Zen’s Light shining bright for the holidays!! Thank you to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County and everyone who made the day so loving, warm, and memorable.”
During his visit, Cannon wore a full Santa Claus costume and read books to the hospitalized children. He also handed out gifts and posed for photos with the patients. The visit was a heartwarming gesture to bring some happiness to the children during the holiday season.
Zen’s passing in December 2021 was a devastating loss for Cannon and his partner Alyssa Scott. Shortly after Zen’s birth in July 2021, Cannon noticed that his son had a “nice-sized” head and developed a cough. They took him to the doctor, where it was discovered that Zen had fluid buildup in his brain and a malignant tumor.
Despite undergoing surgery to drain the fluid, Zen’s health took a turn for the worse around Thanksgiving. Cannon shared the heartbreaking news of his son’s passing in a podcast episode, expressing the importance of grieving and healing.
To commemorate Zen’s death, Cannon and Scott founded Zen’s Light Foundation nearly six months later. The foundation aims to provide support and resources for those affected by loss and grief, as well as pediatric healthcare for families and children in need.
Cannon spoke about the foundation, stating that they were “turning pain into purpose.” He emphasized the joy that Zen brought to their family and their desire to spread that light to others.
In October 2022, Scott announced that she and Cannon were expecting another child. In December of that year, they welcomed their daughter, Halo Marie. With the addition of Halo, Cannon now has a total of 12 children with six different women.
