Mark Consuelos, husband of Kelly Ripa and co-host of Live with Kelly and Mark, recently shared his excitement about Ripa being honored as a Disney Legend. Consuelos revealed on a recent episode of the show that Ripa would be receiving the prestigious title at the D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California.
When asked by guest host Jenny Mollen about his feelings on being married to a Disney Legend, Consuelos replied, “Well, it’s fantastic.” He then went on to mention some of the other notable honorees at the event, including Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford, John Williams, Miley Cyrus, James Cameron, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Mollen, curious about Consuelos’ role at the event, asked him what would be required of him while supporting Ripa. Consuelos jokingly responded, “Well, not speaking.” Mollen then inquired if Consuelos would have to wear “mouse ears” at the Happiest Place on Earth, to which he quickly denied.
Instead, Consuelos humorously stated that he would be wearing a nice suit and letting his hair flow outside, despite his buzz cut. Clearly, he wants to look good while accompanying his wife to receive her well-deserved honor.
Throughout the conversation, Consuelos made sure to express how proud he is of Ripa and her accomplishments. He gushed, “Kelly, I’m so proud of you. You are a legend.” It’s heartwarming to see his unwavering support for his wife.
While Ripa has been absent from Live all week, guest hosts like Mollen, Deja Vu, Jane Krakowski, and Maria Menounos have filled in for her. Although the episodes were pre-recorded, they still offered fresh content, including an interview with John Stamos, who couldn’t resist teasing Consuelos about his haircut.
“Where’s Kelly? She quit finally because of the haircut?” Stamos playfully joked. It’s clear that even in Ripa’s absence, her presence is still felt on the show.
