Marcus Stroman shares his enthusiasm for playing with the Yankees, calling it the ultimate achievement in the sport.

Marcus Stroman, the new right-hander for the New York Yankees, is already feeling the excitement of playing for the prestigious team. During a recent practice session at Steinbrenner Field, Stroman expressed his enthusiasm for putting on the iconic pinstripes and being a part of the Yankees organization.

Stroman, who signed a two-year, $37 million contract with the Yankees last month, described playing for the team as the ultimate achievement in the sport. He mentioned that every player dreams of being a Yankee at some point in their career, as the team is like a worldwide phenomenon that even non-New Yorkers grow up watching.

The Long Island native will be making his next appearance on Sunday in one of the Yankees’ split-squad Grapefruit League games. This will mark another first for Stroman as he continues to prepare for the regular season. Despite his excitement and honor in joining the Yankees, Stroman remains focused on his performance and getting his mechanics dialed in.

During his practice session, Stroman was joined by Carlos Rodon as they alternated “ups” during the live session. Both pitchers impressed manager Aaron Boone with their sharpness and progress at this point in the spring training. Stroman was piling up strikeouts until teammate Austin Wells took him deep for a home run.

In addition to Stroman’s arrival, another player generating buzz is Juan Soto. The Dominican Republic native revealed that his favorite player growing up was former Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano. While Soto has had the opportunity to play with Cano in the 2023 WBC, they haven’t discussed in depth about playing for the Yankees. However, Cano congratulated Soto and mentioned how good it is to play for the team.

As for the rest of the Yankees, all of the position players reported to camp as planned and are healthy. The team is gearing up for an exciting season ahead.

In other news, Carlos Rodon decided to ditch his mustache this year, while Gleyber Torres has acquired one. However, Torres hinted that his mustache may not last through Opening Day.

With the upcoming regular season just weeks away, the Yankees are working hard to prepare and achieve their goal of bringing a championship back to New York. Marcus Stroman’s enthusiasm and passion for playing with the Yankees are evident, and fans are eagerly awaiting his debut in the pinstripes.
