Manvel Shooting: Deputies Shoot Man Firing at 4 Brazoria County Deputies

Man Shot by Deputies in Brazoria County After Refusing to Drop Gun

Brazoria County Shooting

Authorities in Brazoria County, Texas, reported that a man was shot by four deputies at a residence on Sunday night. The incident occurred at 217 Oak Crest Drive in Manvel, according to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting unfolded after law enforcement received a call about a domestic dispute involving a man and a woman fighting over a gun. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the man still had the firearm in his possession.

Despite repeated commands from the deputies to drop the weapon, the man refused to comply, as stated by the sheriff’s office. In an attempt to subdue him, the deputies initially deployed a Taser. However, the man responded by opening fire.

“All four deputies did return fire, striking the subject multiple times. The subject was flown to a Houston-area hospital,” Chief Deputy Ian Patin confirmed.

The current condition of the suspect remains unknown at this time.

As standard procedure, the four deputies involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave while the Texas Rangers conduct an investigation into the incident.
