Robbery Caught on Camera in Boston’s South End

An investigation is underway after a robbery took place at the Richdale Food Shops in Boston’s South End. The incident, which was caught on surveillance video, occurred on Thursday night.

Police Response

Officers from the Boston Police Department responded to a call at around 10 p.m. regarding the robbery at the Dartmouth Street location. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing.

Surveillance Video

The surveillance footage, later shared with 7NEWS, shows a man wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood entering the store. He heads towards a refrigerator and waits for another customer to leave.

The Robbery

According to employees, the robber pretended to buy a bottle of water. When the cashier opened the register to make change, the man revealed a gun hidden in his coat. Startled, the cashier jumps back with his hands up as the robber reaches over the counter and takes cash.

Stolen Amount

Boston police reported that the robber stole approximately $3,000 from the register during the incident.

Masked Robber

The surveillance cameras captured the entire incident, but unfortunately, the robber’s face was covered by a mask, making identification difficult.

Ongoing Investigation

As of Friday, no arrests had been made in connection with this case. Boston police continue their investigation into the robbery at the Richdale Food Shops.
