Umansky revealed in a heartbreaking preview that Richards had encouraged him to date other people during their separation. However, Richards has now clarified that her intentions were different from what Umansky portrayed.
During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked Richards about the public reaction to Umansky’s revelations on his Netflix show. Richards admitted that she hadn’t seen the comments on social media, but she was taken aback by Umansky’s claims. She clarified that she didn’t encourage him to date other people, but rather expressed that if they were going to be separated, it would be easier for her to deal with if she didn’t feel blindsided.
The clip from Buying Beverly Hills, which was released earlier this week, shows Umansky having an emotional conversation with their daughters Farrah, Alexia, and Sophia about the state of his relationship with their mother. He explains that Richards asked for space and told him that he could go out, date, and do whatever he wanted without questioning each other’s actions. The revelation brought the daughters to tears, with Sophia expressing her shock at how quickly things had changed.
Richards and Umansky were married for 27 years before announcing their separation in late 2023. While their relationship has faced difficulties, they have not confirmed whether they will proceed with a legal divorce.
