Kurt Russell Rushes to O.J. Simpson’s Home During 1994 Bronco Police Chase: ‘Always Crossing Paths’ with ‘Serial Killers’

Kurt Russell’s Stepchildren Share Stories of His Adventurous Encounters

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, stepchildren of Kurt Russell, shared anecdotes about their famous stepdad always finding himself in unique situations. One such incident occurred on the night of the infamous 1994 police chase involving O.J. Simpson in his white Bronco. Russell, who was watching the NBA Finals at a friend’s house near Simpson’s residence, predicted that Simpson was heading home.

The retired Orange County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jim Sewell described the chase as a one-time event that became a nationwide circus. He admitted that he was unaware of the live broadcast and the interruption of Game 5 of the NBA playoffs at the time.

Kate and Oliver’s mother, Goldie Hawn, had them with singer Bill Hudson. However, Hawn has been in a long-term relationship with Russell since 1983, and he raised Kate and Oliver as his own. Russell and Hawn also share a son named Wyatt Russell.

According to Kate, Russell left his friend’s house during the chase and went to O.J. Simpson’s residence out of curiosity. The siblings recalled seeing their dad on television behind caution tape while watching the interrupted NBA Finals.

In addition to the O.J. Simpson incident, Oliver mentioned that Russell had encounters with other notorious figures. He claimed that Russell once “beat up” one of Charles Manson’s followers and crossed paths with serial killer Ted Bundy when he escaped from Pitkin County Courthouse in 1977.

Oliver also shared a story about Russell’s camping trip where his plate of food mysteriously disappeared. It turned out that Ted Bundy, after being caught, confessed to surviving by stealing food from a guy camping in the woods with his friends – who happened to be Kurt Russell.

While Kate expressed some skepticism about these stories, she found them intriguing nonetheless. The siblings concluded that Russell always seemed to cross paths with killers and had a knack for finding himself in extraordinary situations.

The O.J. Simpson trial, in which he was acquitted of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, was later fictionalized in the anthology series “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson,” with Cuba Gooding Jr. playing Simpson.

Overall, Kurt Russell’s stepchildren provided entertaining and captivating stories about their famous stepdad’s encounters, showcasing his adventurous nature and ability to find himself in extraordinary situations.
