The 75-year-old king will receive treatment at the London Clinic, where the Princess of Wales is currently recovering from abdominal surgery. King Charles visited Princess Kate at the hospital upon his arrival.

“The King was this morning admitted to a London hospital for scheduled treatment,” the palace statement read. “His Majesty would like to express his gratitude to all those who have sent their well wishes over the past week.”

King Charles was diagnosed with the benign condition on January 17 after undergoing a check-up due to experiencing symptoms. He canceled his engagements and was advised to rest prior to the procedure.

The publicity surrounding the king’s surgery is being seen as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of prostate checks for men, in line with public health recommendations.

The palace also stated that the king is “pleased to learn that his diagnosis is positively impacting public health awareness.”
