Kelly Bensimon Gets Emotional Saying “Yes to the Dress” for Her Wedding at Kleinfeld Bridal

Kelly Bensimon, former star of “Real Housewives of New York City,” recently said “yes to the dress” and had an emotional experience while doing so. She recounts trying on gowns at Manhattan’s Kleinfeld Bridal and almost breaking down in tears. The overwhelming feelings she had while finding the perfect garment for her big day brought her to the brink of crying. Bensimon admits that she never expected to get so emotional when saying yes to the dress. She praises the supportive and excited Kleinfeld employees who helped her pull options and expresses gratitude for the whole process.

Bensimon, who was previously married to photographer Gilles Bensimon, emphasizes that she never envisioned herself getting married again, especially at the age of 56. The thought of remarriage was overwhelming for her. Despite her initial reservations, she wouldn’t change anything about this day and the events leading up to it.

While trying on the wedding dress she ultimately chose, Kelly got choked up and jokes that her fiancé will likely be even more emotional when he sees her walk down the aisle. She predicts that he will be crying and urges him to stop crying, laugh, and smile instead.

Although Kelly doesn’t reveal which dress she selected for her “I dos,” she teases that she picked several garments to wear throughout the intimate ceremony set to take place in Litner’s family home. She describes the Kleinfeld experience as one filled with unique pearl dresses, lace dresses, taffeta dresses, longer dresses, shorter dresses, tighter dresses, and bigger dresses. According to her, it was impossible to choose just one look. The entire experience felt like a fairytale and was truly unbelievable.

Kelly was open to trying on different silhouettes and styles from bridal brands like Netta Benshabu, Nicole + Felicia, and Pnina Tornai. Her only sartorial rule was that she needed to feel like a royal. As a queen, she wanted to play the part of a princess on her special day. She wanted to exude both her queen vibes and her playful self.

The wedding dress Kelly ultimately chose for her nuptials is full of regal flair. She didn’t anticipate feeling so excited and beautiful in the dress, considering she has worn countless dresses throughout her modeling career. However, putting on this wedding dress felt like magic to her.
