Harris County Family Considers Move After Stray Bullet Narrowly Misses Daughter

Cedric Strauss and his family moved into their home in the north Katy area of Harris County, Texas two years ago, hoping to settle down in a peaceful neighborhood. However, their dream turned into a nightmare when a stray bullet was fired into their home, narrowly missing their daughter who was sitting on the living room couch.

A Terrifying Experience

Recalling the incident, Strauss said, “I went into a panic mode. Fear set in because I’m thinking, ‘These people are shooting, another bullet might hit.'” His daughter dropped to the floor and crawled to safety out of fear. Strauss immediately called 911, but it took hours for Harris County deputies to arrive.

Concerns for Safety

The incident has left the family shaken and considering a move. “The biggest worry is my safety, my kids, the neighbors, the community,” Strauss expressed. Another neighbor confirmed that similar incidents have occurred in the community before.

Possible Source of Gunshots

Strauss believes that the gunshots are coming from nearby fields, possibly from individuals engaging in target practice or for fun. However, he emphasized the potential danger of such actions, stating, “They need to know that could have ended real bad.”

It is crucial for authorities to investigate and address this issue promptly to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in the community.
