Joy Behar Teases a Potential Romantic Encounter with a Woman in the Future

Joy Behar, the co-host of “The View,” recently made a lighthearted joke about her interest in exploring a same-sex encounter. During an episode of the show, her close friends Sandra Bernhard and Judy Gold, who are both part of the LGBTQIA+ community, asked if she had ever been intimate with a woman. Joy responded with a laugh, saying that while she hasn’t done so yet, she is open to the idea and might pursue it in her 90s.

However, Joy clarified that despite her fantasy, she is currently married to Steve Janowitz, whom she met at a semi-nudist colony back in 1982. She humorously shared that she was fully clothed when they first met because she has a rule about being seen naked only by someone who is included in her will. The couple hit it off that night while attending a movie in the colony and went on to date for nearly 30 years before finally tying the knot in a private ceremony in New York City in August 2011.

Interestingly, Joy and Steve had initially planned to get married in 2009 but called off the engagement due to Joy’s cold feet. She jokingly mentioned that she waited until both of their parents had passed away, so they wouldn’t have any in-laws to deal with. She believes that marriage often involves dealing with in-laws who constantly want you to visit them and share meals together.

Before her marriage to Steve Janowitz, Joy Behar was previously married to Joe Behar from 1962 to 1981. They have a daughter named Eve Behar Scotti, who is now 53 years old.

Joy Behar’s humor and openness about her personal life bring a lighthearted and relatable element to her role on “The View.” While her comment about exploring a same-sex encounter was made in jest, it reflects her acceptance and support of the LGBTQIA+ community. Joy’s long-lasting relationship with Steve Janowitz showcases the beauty of love that can develop over time, even when it starts in unconventional places like a semi-nudist colony. Overall, Joy Behar’s candidness and wit make her a beloved figure on the show and in the entertainment industry.
