Jenna Ortega Channels “Beetlejuice” Style in Unique and Spooky Fashion Tributes

Jenna Ortega, the 21-year-old actress, has been making waves with her unique and stylish wardrobe choices as she promotes the sequel to Tim Burton’s “Beetlejuice.” Ortega has been paying homage to the original film’s iconic fashions, and her outfits have been turning heads on red carpets around the world.

One of Ortega’s standout looks was an ensemble inspired by the statue made by Catherine O’Hara’s character, Delia Deetz, in the original film. Styled by Enrique Melendez, she wore a structured gray and black Harris Reed ensemble, complete with black velvet opera gloves. As a nod to the haunted Deetz family home, Ortega carried a miniature model of it as a purse at the London premiere.

Ortega also paid tribute to Winona Ryder’s character, Lydia Deetz, by wearing a custom Dior gown in Venice. The red sheer gown featured a heart-shaped top and pleated bottom, reminiscent of Lydia’s iconic red wedding dress. She further showcased her love for Beetlejuice’s wedding outfit by wearing a custom burgundy Paul Smith suit in Venice and a burgundy blazer dress with contrasting red lapels from Alexander McQueen in London.

Not only has Ortega embraced the fashion of the Deetz family, but she has also channeled Geena Davis’ character, Barbara Maitland. In a Giambattista Valli Paris gown, she resembled something Barbara would wear, complete with a Handbag for the Recently Deceased. While this look may not fit the gothic aesthetic of Beetlejuice, it was a nod to the character and showcased Ortega’s versatility.

Ortega’s attention to detail in her outfits is evident in her replication of Lydia Deetz’s final look. Wearing a Thom Browne navy blue sweater, white collared button-down, and plaid skirt, she perfectly captured the essence of the character. This was the first time she was seen clutching the Handbag for the Recently Deceased, adding an extra touch of authenticity to her ensemble.

Of course, no Beetlejuice-inspired wardrobe would be complete without a striped suit. Ortega pleased fans by donning a long-sleeved pinstriped suit dress by Dolce & Gabbana. Described by Melendez as “soft goth glam La Bella Mafia vibes,” this look was a stylish twist on Beetlejuice’s classic outfits.

Ortega continued to impress with her fashion choices, donning a cropped tuxedo jacket, semi-sheer black lace dress, and matching platform heels in New York City. This look paid homage to Lydia’s black veiled outfit, adding a touch of mystery and elegance to Ortega’s style.

For the film premiere in Mexico, Ortega pulled out all the stops with a custom strapless teal Lurline dress featuring a shrunken head molded into the structured bodice. This unique feature was a playful reference to the shrunken heads in the original film and hinted at what might be in store for the sequel.

Throughout her promotional tour, Ortega has showcased her impeccable fashion sense and attention to detail. From the iconic looks of the Deetz family to the dark and spooky vibes of the Beetlejuice universe, she has brought these characters to life with her stylish ensembles. With each outfit, Ortega has paid homage to the original film while adding her own unique twist, proving that it’s truly showtime for her.
