Oil Prices Rise, Gold Falls: Market Update

The benchmark U.S. crude oil for March delivery saw a 72 cent increase, reaching $75.09 per barrel on Wednesday. Similarly, Brent crude for March delivery rose by 49 cents, reaching $80.04 per barrel.

Gasoline and Natural Gas Prices

Wholesale gasoline for February delivery remained unchanged at $2.21 a gallon, while February heating oil fell by 1 cent to $2.68 a gallon. On the other hand, February natural gas experienced a rise of 19 cents, reaching $2.64 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Gold, Silver, and Copper Prices

Gold for February delivery saw a decline of $9.80, reaching $2,016 per ounce. However, silver for March delivery rose by 43 cents, reaching $22.89 per ounce. Additionally, March copper experienced a rise of 10 cents, reaching $3.89 per pound.

Currency Exchange Rates

The dollar weakened against the yen, falling to 147.59 yen from 148.39 Japanese yen. Conversely, the euro strengthened against the dollar, rising to $1.0889 from $1.0845.
