Instagram Model Blames “Pink Cocaine” for Fatal Miami Crash: Details Revealed

Party drugs and time travel are not excuses that hold up in court, as demonstrated by the case of Maecee Marie Lathers, a 24-year-old Instagram model from New York. Lathers was involved in a three-car wreck in downtown Miami on August 10, which resulted in the death of two people, including a father. She confessed to police that she was under the influence of “pink cocaine,” also known as “tusi” or 2C, at the time of the accident. According to WPLG, Lathers blamed the drug and claimed to be from the future and in possession of a crystal ball.

Pink cocaine, a synthetic drug concoction associated with a dangerous Venezuelan gang, has been making its way through New York City’s drug scene. The fact that Lathers was under the influence of this potent substance raises serious concerns about the accessibility and use of such drugs. It also highlights the need for increased awareness and enforcement measures to combat the spread of dangerous narcotics.

The crash occurred when Lathers ran a red light and collided with a black Range Rover before attempting to flee the scene. Unfortunately, her reckless actions resulted in the death of Abraham Ismael, who was driving a silver Suzuki sedan with his wife, Juanita Hernández, as a passenger. Ismael had to be extricated from the vehicle and later died at the hospital. The rear passenger in the Suzuki was killed instantly.

Hernández, who survived the crash, was left with devastating injuries that rendered her unable to work. She has also been burdened with the financial responsibility of caring for her 16-year-old son, as her husband was the primary breadwinner. A GoFundMe campaign has been started to support Hernández and her son during this difficult time, as they navigate the emotional and financial aftermath of the tragedy.

Lathers, whose license had been suspended since January, was apprehended by bystanders before she could escape. Her attempt to flee the scene further demonstrates her disregard for the consequences of her actions. It is clear that Lathers should not have been behind the wheel, given her suspended license and impaired state due to the party drug. Her decisions led to the loss of innocent lives and the devastation of families.

During her court appearance, Lathers wore a green anti-suicide vest, indicating the severity of the charges against her. Prosecutors argued that she was a flight risk and requested a high bond. Lathers is currently facing eight felony charges, including driving without a license resulting in death or serious injury, and leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death or serious injury. The judge deemed her a danger to the community and set her bond at $140,000.

This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of drug use and the importance of responsible behavior on the road. It also highlights the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and penalties for those who choose to drive under the influence. The loss of two lives and the devastation experienced by the victims’ families should serve as a wake-up call for society to prioritize safety and make informed decisions, both on and off the road.
