Geraldine Labbe, who lives nearby, is also facing the same predicament. Without a working air conditioning system, she has been forced to seek shelter with her daughter. Labbe describes the situation as “awful” and expresses her longing to be back in her own home. Her daughter emphasizes that these neighborhoods are populated by vulnerable individuals who are particularly susceptible to the adverse effects of extreme temperatures. She pleads with CenterPoint, stating, “I just don’t want CenterPoint to come see about mom. I want CenterPoint to come see about Kashmere Gardens and all of these seniors and all of the disabled.”
