METRO Offers Free Rides on New Year’s Eve to Prevent Drunk Driving

In an effort to help prevent drunk driving, METRO is once again offering free rides to revelers on New Year’s Eve. This initiative aims to provide a safe and convenient transportation option for those celebrating the holiday.

Free Rides Schedule

Free rides will be available from 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day. This offer includes local bus, METRORail, METRORapid, and METROLift services.

Service Details

On New Year’s Eve, December 31, local bus, METRORail, METRORapid, and curb2curb services will follow Sunday schedules. However, Park & Ride routes will not operate. It is important to note that the METRO-operated HOV Lanes will remain open.

For those who rely on METROLift subscription trips, please be aware that they will be canceled during this period. Only those who made reservations before Friday, December 29, 5 p.m. will be able to avail of the service.

New Year’s Day Schedule

On New Year’s Day, January 1, local buses, METRORail, METRORapid, and curb2curb services will operate on a Sunday schedule. However, there will be no Park & Ride service available. Additionally, the METRO-operated HOV Lanes will be closed on this day.

It is important to note that the Customer Care Center, METRO’s RideStore, and Lost & Found will also be closed on New Year’s Day.
