Florida Man Arrested for Attempted Child Kidnapping at Walmart

A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to kidnap a child from a Walmart store in Lehigh Acres. Pablo Pintueles Hernandez has been charged with false imprisonment of a child 13 years old and under, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred when Pintueles Hernandez grabbed a 4-year-old boy and tried to pull him away from his family. Fortunately, a relative quickly intervened and prevented the kidnapping from taking place. Surveillance footage confirmed the incident, showing an unknown man grabbing the child’s wrist and forcing him to go in his direction.

Through investigative techniques, detectives discovered that Pintueles Hernandez had indeed grabbed the child’s wrist, pulled him, and directed him to walk with him while saying, “let’s go.” The police promptly arrived at Pintueles Hernandez’s residence and arrested him approximately an hour after the attempted kidnapping occurred.

Sheriff Carmine Marceno expressed his concern over the incident, calling it “incredibly disturbing.” He reassured the community that his team would do everything possible to ensure the safety of residents during simple shopping trips. Marceno emphasized that criminals like Pintueles Hernandez would face the consequences of their actions.

This incident serves as a reminder to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions when out in public places, especially with children. Authorities urge parents and guardians to keep a close eye on their children and report any suspicious activity immediately.

By working together and staying alert, we can help create a safer environment for everyone in our community.
