The boater suspected of causing the accident, Carlos Guillermo Alonso, was captured on video appearing calm and collected as he docked his boat after the crash. The footage, released on Friday, shows Alonso leaving his Coral Gables home on May 11 in his 42-foot Boston Whaler at around 3 p.m.
It was approximately an hour later that the collision occurred. Witnesses claim that Alonso seemed unaware that he had struck Adler and fled the scene. Shockingly, the video shows Alonso returning to his dock at around 4:30 p.m., tying up his boat, and proceeding as if nothing had happened. His lawyer, Lauren Krasnoff, released a statement after the video’s release, asserting that Alonso had no knowledge of the incident and displayed no signs of attempting to hide anything.
Krasnoff hopes that the video will dispel any unfounded rumors suggesting that Alonso was aware of the collision and tried to cover it up.
