Man Fatally Stabbed on METRORail Train in Houston

A tragic incident occurred on Sunday night near downtown Houston, as a man was fatally stabbed during a fight on board a METRORail train, according to local police.

Search for Suspect Continues

The Houston Police Department (HPD) is currently on the lookout for the suspect involved in the stabbing.

Details of the Incident

The deadly stabbing took place at approximately 9 p.m. on the red line of the METRORail train, near the 1900 block of Main Street. HPD investigators revealed that two men were engaged in a fight on the train, which escalated and resulted in one of the men repeatedly stabbing the other. The suspect then fled the scene after getting off the train.

Meanwhile, the victim remained on the train, and fellow passengers promptly informed the conductor about the incident.

“Our victim stayed on the train and was on the train until they reached the platform here,” said Detective Diaz. “There were some other passengers on the train that notified the conductor and notified them of the male that was injured and needing help.”

The train eventually came to a stop at a platform located in Midtown’s 4500 block of Main Street, approximately two miles away from where the stabbing occurred.

Tragic Outcome

Upon arrival at the platform, first responders declared the victim deceased due to his injuries.

Appeal for Witnesses

Unfortunately, the witnesses who observed the incident did not remain at the scene to provide statements to the police. Investigators are now urging these individuals to come forward and assist in identifying and locating the suspect.
