Travis Kelce’s Father Responds to Prenup Question Regarding Taylor Swift
Ed Kelce, the father of Travis Kelce, recently addressed a question about whether his son would sign a prenuptial agreement if he were to get engaged to his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The topic was brought up during an interview on Audacy’s “92.3 The Fan” radio show with hosts Baskin and Phelps. The hosts implied that Swift’s billionaire status surpasses Travis Kelce’s net worth as a Kansas City Chiefs tight end.
Ed Kelce responded vaguely, stating, “I think you get to a point. I don’t know that Taylor is out there trying to make money, trying to build this huge empire. I think she’s out there following her passion, doing what she knows and what she enjoys. People are just throwing money at her, you know what I mean.”
Ed Kelce quickly moved on from the conversation when the hosts asked about his first meeting with Taylor Swift. He recalled being at Travis’ home in Kansas City before a football game when Swift walked in. Ed admitted that he initially didn’t recognize her, saying, “Oh my god, I know this kid, but I don’t know what her name is.” It was his girlfriend who informed him that she was Taylor Swift.
Ed Kelce also mentioned how his family’s life has changed since Travis started dating Taylor Swift. He explained, “There’s eyes on you every place you go. More people recognize us since he started dating Taylor. I’ll be [at] the grocery store, somebody will smile and say, ‘Hey!’ Come over and say [hi], and I have no idea who they are.”
While Swift has been photographed at Travis’ games with his mother, Donna Kelce, she has also been seen chatting with Ed Kelce. The first time they were seen together was at a Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos match in October 2023.
In an interview with People, Ed Kelce praised Taylor Swift, describing her as “a very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.” Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce, also seem to be fans of Swift as a possible engagement between her and Travis lingers. According to Page Six, Travis plans to propose on their first anniversary in July.
