Oil Prices Decline, Gold Rises: Market Update

In the latest market update, benchmark U.S. crude oil for February delivery experienced a drop of $1.46, settling at $74.11 per barrel on Wednesday. Similarly, Brent crude for February delivery fell $1.42 to $79.65 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline for January delivery also saw a slight decrease of 1 cent, reaching $2.15 per gallon. On the other hand, January heating oil experienced a more significant decline of 5 cents, settling at $2.62 per gallon. However, January natural gas witnessed a rise of 7 cents, reaching $2.62 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Meanwhile, the price of gold for February delivery saw an increase of $23.30, reaching $2,093.10 per ounce. Similarly, silver for March delivery rose by 24 cents to $24.64 per ounce, and March copper experienced a rise of 6 cents, reaching $3.96 per pound.

In terms of currency exchange rates, the dollar fell against the Japanese yen, settling at 141.90 yen compared to the previous rate of 142.49 yen. Conversely, the euro rose to $1.1101 from $1.1045.
