Oil Prices Rise: Benchmark U.S. Crude Oil Hits $75.57 per Barrel
The price of benchmark U.S. crude oil for February delivery experienced a significant increase, rising by $2.01 to reach $75.57 per barrel on Tuesday. Similarly, Brent crude for February delivery also saw a rise of $2, reaching $81.07 per barrel.
Gasoline and Heating Oil Prices
Wholesale gasoline prices for January delivery also experienced a slight increase, rising by 3 cents to $2.16 per gallon. On the other hand, January heating oil prices rose by 1 cent to $2.67 per gallon.
Natural Gas Prices
Contrary to the trend seen in oil and gasoline prices, January natural gas prices fell by 6 cents to $2.55 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gold and Silver Prices
In the precious metals market, gold prices for February delivery rose by 70 cents to reach $2,069.80 per ounce. However, silver prices for March delivery fell by 17 cents to $24.40 per ounce. Additionally, March copper prices also experienced a slight decline, falling by 1 cent to $3.90 per pound.
Foreign Exchange Rates
The dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 142.49 yen from 142.45 yen. Similarly, the euro also saw an increase, rising to $1.1045 from $1.1011.
