Choose the Right Bedroom Bangers: Experts Reveal the Worst Songs to Set the Mood

Finding the perfect soundtrack for a romantic evening in the bedroom can be a challenge. According to experts at Dating Scout, many people are choosing the wrong tunes to set the mood. To determine which songs meet the desired tempo for sex, researchers analyzed current pop playlists on Spotify with keywords like “romance,” “sexy,” “sensual,” and “intimate.”

The ideal tempo for music during sex has been scientifically determined to be 119 beats per minute (BPM). However, it turns out that popular songs like Jeremih’s “Birthday Sex” and the Arctic Monkeys’ “I Wanna Be Yours” are far from the mark. Jeremih’s hit, despite appearing in approximately 121 playlists, registers at a mere 60 BPM, making it the wrongest song to play while trying to get intimate.

Notably, several songs by The Weeknd, known for their sexually charged lyrics, were also found to have low BPMs. One of his tracks, “High for This,” has a tempo of 75 BPM, yet it appears on 146 playlists specifically curated for the bedroom, including 31 with the word “sex” in the title. This discrepancy was disheartening to the researchers.

Surprisingly, the worst offender in terms of best sex songs was “Birthday Sex” by Jeremih. Despite its sexually charged lyrics and meaning, the song ranked poorly.

On the other hand, the best song to turn on in the bedroom, according to the study, is a hit by Post Malone. His track “Pour Me A Drink (ft. Blake Shelton)” has a tempo of 119 BPM, making it the ideal song for knocking boots. Rihanna, despite her popularity, had multiple tracks that were deemed unsuitable for the bedroom, such as “Needed Me” and “Sex With Me.”

Furthermore, researchers analyzed the best songs in the Billboard Hot 100 to have sex to, and another tune by Post Malone came out on top. “misses” by Dominic Fike, with a tempo of 119.9 BPM, and “Brand New Dance” by Eminem, with a tempo of 120 BPM, were among the runner-ups.

Interestingly, past research has suggested that certain songs can help individuals last longer in the bedroom. Hip-hop lovers, in particular, tend to average a time of 31.5 minutes. While the choice of music may not directly impact stamina, it can contribute to a more pleasurable and intimate experience overall.

In conclusion, when it comes to selecting the perfect songs for a romantic encounter, it’s essential to consider the tempo. Many popular tracks fall short of the desired 119 BPM, making them less suitable for setting the mood in the bedroom. However, with careful consideration, music can enhance the overall experience and create a more intimate atmosphere. So, next time you’re looking to spice things up, be sure to choose songs with the right tempo to set the mood just right.
