Child Stars Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez’s High School Drama Over Nick Jonas Revealed

High school drama seems to be a universal experience, even for Disney Channel child stars. Jennifer Stone, known for her role in “Wizards of Waverly Place,” recently revealed that Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez had their fair share of drama back in the day. Stone discussed the situation on her podcast, “Wizards of Waverly Pod,” explaining that the tension between Cyrus and Gomez stemmed from their relationships with Nick Jonas.

According to Stone, both Cyrus and Gomez dated Jonas at different times, leading to some messy high school drama. While Cyrus dated Jonas first, Gomez followed suit, creating a complicated situation between the two actresses. This tension was evident in the 2009 crossover episode “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana,” which brought together characters from “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “Hannah Montana,” and “The Suite Life on Deck.” Despite appearing in the episode, Cyrus and Gomez did not share any scenes together.

Fortunately, time has healed the wounds, and Cyrus and Gomez are now on good terms. Stone clarified that they have put the high school drama behind them and are all good now. This revelation comes as no surprise, as both Cyrus and Gomez have shown in recent years that they have moved past any feuds or animosity.

In 2016, Gomez spoke highly of Cyrus in an interview, stating that they never feuded and that they both liked the same guy when they were 16. Cyrus also defended Gomez in 2018 when designer Stefano Gabbana made derogatory comments about her. The two stars have even addressed important topics like mental health on Cyrus’ Instagram show, “Bright Minded.”

As for their love lives, Gomez has been dating music producer Benny Blanco since 2023, while Cyrus has been in a relationship with drummer Maxx Morando since 2021. Jonas, on the other hand, found love with Priyanka Chopra, whom he married in 2018. They now have a 2-year-old daughter named Malti.

From high school drama to personal growth and friendship, it’s clear that the Disney Channel child stars have come a long way. Despite their past conflicts, Cyrus and Gomez have managed to move on and support each other in their respective endeavors. It’s a testament to their maturity and the bonds they formed during their time in the entertainment industry.
