In a now-viral video, Taveras can be seen shoving the security guard away as she tries to showcase her gown on the red steps. It’s unclear what was said between the two, but Taveras appeared visibly upset as she attempted to pose for photos.
Taveras, who is 39 years old, seemed agitated with the female guard, who appeared to be preventing her from adjusting her train and taking pictures. Once at the top of the stairs, Taveras gave a final wave to the crowd before forcefully pushing off the security guard who had touched her while trying to usher her inside the building.
Interestingly, this is not the first time this security guard has been involved in a confrontational incident. Just days prior, Kelly Rowland had a similar exchange with the same staffer while walking the red carpet. The former Destiny’s Child member was seen pointing her finger in the woman’s face as she seemingly reprimanded her. The guard also appeared to be rushing Rowland off the red carpet and away from the crowd and photographers.
According to an expert lip reader, Rowland allegedly told the worker to watch how she spoke to her, saying, “Don’t talk to me like that.” She repeatedly shouted at the woman, emphasizing that she was not her mother and that she had already told her not to speak to her in such a manner.

She expressed frustration at the fact that other women who did not look like her were not scolded or pushed off the carpet.
