Brooklyn Woman Struggles Through Holiday Season After Boyfriend’s Fatal Stabbing

Claudia Morales Reflects on the Loss of Her Activist Boyfriend

The holiday season has been particularly difficult for Claudia Morales, the Brooklyn woman who witnessed her activist boyfriend being fatally stabbed in a random attack at a Bed-Stuy bus stop in October. Morales expressed her struggles in heartfelt social media posts, stating that this will be the hardest Christmas of her life. She is filled with both awe and pain when witnessing other people’s love, as it reminds her of the love she lost.

Morales is dreading the upcoming months, including Christmas, New Year’s, her birthday, and Valentine’s Day, as these were the days she used to celebrate with her late boyfriend, Ryan Carson. Despite her fear, she is determined to face these days head-on.

The 28-year-old woman frequently experiences unexpected moments of grief and pain as she remembers Carson. She longs for the year to end but finds it difficult to accept being in a year that Carson never lived to see.

Memories of Carson and their relationship are often shared by Morales through images of them together, such as selfies and pictures from a baseball game at Fenway Park. She also shares sweet texts he sent to her, highlighting their journey together.

In a message sent to Morales on January 27, Carson expressed his gratitude for having her in his life and his excitement for their future together. The couple had been dating for almost a year and a half when Carson was tragically stabbed three times by an unhinged assailant identified as 18-year-old Brian Dowling.

Morales pleaded with Dowling during the attack, which occurred in the early hours of October 2. The couple was returning from a wedding on Long Island when the incident took place. The day after Carson’s death, Morales shared a heartfelt note she found in his phone, expressing his desire to love her more than anyone else ever had.

Despite the pain she endures, Morales continues to remember and honor Carson through her social media posts. She reflects on their relationship and the impact he had on her life. Morales acknowledges that losing the love of her life in such a tragic way is an experience she would not wish upon anyone.

Dowling has pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges. Morales has not been available for comment.
