BROCKTON, MASS. – Authorities have located a man believed to be connected to the deadly shooting of Stephanie Beatty in Brockton early Friday morning. The suspect, identified as Gelson Fernandes, 29, of Brockton, was found with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and has been transported to a Boston hospital for treatment.

Stephanie Beatty, a resident of Norwich, Connecticut, was discovered dead in a vehicle on Nason Street. The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office has charged Gelson Fernandes with homicide in connection with the fatal shooting. Investigators have determined that Beatty and Fernandes were previously acquainted.
