Boston Police responded to an accident in Brighton on Tuesday morning, resulting in the closure of Cambridge Street between Harvard Street and Union Square. The incident occurred just after 10 a.m.

Bicyclist Hit by Garbage Truck

According to authorities, an adult male riding a bicycle was hit by a garbage truck. The bicyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment.

The victim’s uncle, who had met him earlier for coffee, stated that the bicyclist was on his way to work when the accident happened.

The driver of the garbage truck remained at the scene following the incident.
